This is a review on possibly the most famous play of all time, William Shakespeare’s one and only Romeo and Juliet, The movie takes place in Verona.
The movie and the book are very similar, same characters, same plot, same timeline and same language. The movie takes place in the future with guns and cars. They were similar although the movie seems like a parody of the book because it has the actors to everreact and not play their character so well in some scenes. I liked that it was like in the future and it seemed fun. The movie is also far more violent than the book, there is more abuse and blood.
What did I like?, what did I dislike?. I liked that the movie was in the future and it was far more entertaining than reading the book. I liked that the movie had guns and cars. I liked the ending when Juliet was awake to see Romeo suicide himself, it was kind of funny. I disliked the language they used because it didn’t fit the time the movie is set. I also disliked Lord Capulet because he was very abusive in the movie, I also disliked the way Mercutio is portrayed.
I would not recommend the movie or the book to anyone because they are boring and have weird language. The movie is a parody and it is futuristic , it does not portray the movie very accurately regarding the time period and the objects that they used. I would not recommend the book because it´s boring as hell and it´s very hard to understand would only recommend it for people that study Romeo and Juliet or just Shakespeare in general.
In conclusion the movie and the movie is similar yet different from the book and portrayed the story very in some parts and regularly in others. It also has some parts that the audience might like and some that don´t. I would not recommend it and it´s in my opinion, really boring.
